Fagerberg is a supplier of valves and instruments to the process industry, serving sectors including paper and pulp, and nuclear power. With complex product flows and detailed specifications critical to their customers' operations, efficient warehouse management is essential to their business success.
The challenge
As a company dealing with thousands of product specifications and complex inventory flows, Fagerberg needed to modernize their warehouse operations. Their existing processes were becoming inefficient, and they realized a need for a robust Warehouse Management System (WMS) integration as part of a larger ERP transformation.
Morgan Ström, Warehouse Manager at Fagerberg, explains: "The flow turned out to be more complex than we initially thought. We were moving from ’pen and paper’ to scanning systems - it was a complete transformation of how we work."
The solution
Fagerberg partnered with Golden EDI to implement an integration between Business Central and Ongoing WMS. The project was initiated through their BC partner, Fellowmind, who recommended Golden EDI for the integration expertise.

Results and impact
Since going live in April, Fagerberg has successfully transitioned from manual processes to a more digital warehouse operation. The reslut has exceeded their expectations, streamlining their workflows, improving accuracy and gaining real-time inventory tracking and reporting.
"It's actually gone beyond expectations, I have to say. There have been positive reactions internally. Everyone is very positively inclined towards the change so far," says Morgan.
Looking forward
Fagerberg has already identified areas for future improvements and continues to work with Golden EDI to optimize their WMS. The successful implementation has given them confidence in the platform's capabilities.
